Drawing on references to 1980s–1990s childhood living environments—their atmospheres, objects, colours, hairstyles, and make-up—Dean incorporates his signature loosing-embroidery textiles, in which threads drift and settle like memories in motion. The varied characterisations of this experience reign throughout the collection, capturing its evolution.
